The university will hold the second annual Remembrance Ceremony on May 19 from noon-1 p.m. at the UC Davis Conference Center Ballrooms. The ceremony provides a space for the university community to honor the students, faculty and staff we have lost in the past year.

The ceremony aims to provide a reflective space for the extended university community, including friends and family of individuals being honored, to come together in remembrance and celebration of those who are gone but cherished and not forgotten. It will feature a brief introduction from Chancellor Gary S. May, musical performances and a reading of names.

A full list of individuals being honored, along with additional event details and a link to register to attend, is available on the event webpage. Tickets are not required, but guests are strongly encouraged to register to attend to help with planning

If you are aware of a current student, faculty member, emeriti faculty member, or a staff member from UC Davis or UC Davis Health who passed away between May 1, 2024, and April 30, 2025, and whose name is not yet reflected on the event page, please reach out to Human Resources.

Please note that retired staff, former students, alumni, volunteers and donors will not be formally included in the ceremony in order to keep the event manageable. To report deaths of former employees, information should be emailed to the Retiree Center. To report deaths of alumni and donors, information should be emailed to Alumni and Affiliate Relations.

In some cases, family members have asked that their loved ones not be included, and those names will not appear on the website or be read at the event.

Following the program, the Aggie Mental Health Ambassadors will host a ribbon activity to offer guests a quiet moment of reflection.
