A classic coach in his last game, the Causeway Classic.
The real Biggs
What better time for the first bobblehead in athletics department history?
In this classic giveaway, the first fans arriving at Aggie Stadium on Saturday (Nov. 17) will receive Coach Bob Biggs bobbleheads as he wraps up his 35th and final year on the Aggie football coaching staff, his 20th as head coach.
Biggs, a Little All-American quarterback for the Aggies before becoming a coach, announced last December that he would retire from coaching at the end of the 2012 season.
The season ends with the Sacramento State game: the 59th annual Causeway Classic. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.; gates open at 2. Ticket information.
Biggs played in four of the classics, 1969-72. Coupled with his 35 years as a coach, he has been on the field or on the sidelines in 39 Causeway Classics (including 2012).
His record: 3-1 as a player, 26-8 as a coach (so far).
(An earlier version of this article stated incorrectly that Biggs would be participating in his 40th Causeway Classic this year. In fact, he has participated in 40 games against Sac State, but one of them, in 1988, was not a Causeway Classic. In that season, when Biggs was an assistant coach, the Aggies met the Hornets twice, in the classic and then in a playoff game.)
