Wednesday, March 15 -- Dolores Huerta, co-founder of the United Farm Workers of America and leader of Chicana/o and labor movements, will speak at UC Davis about the growing anti-immigrant sentiment in the United States and what immigrants and advocates for workers rights can do to defend targeted communities. The farmworkers organization has led some of the most successful campaigns for farmworker rights in American history. Huerta's presentation is the first Cruz Reynoso Keynote Address, named for the UC Davis law professor who was the first Chicano to serve on the California Supreme Court and who is a nationally recognized advocate for social, political and legal justice. Huerta's public lecture, which begins at noon in the Moot Courtroom of King Hall, is part of the School of Law's Cesar Chavez Week, organized by the La Raza Law Students Association and supported by other law student groups.
