Students across the Sacramento area head back to school in the coming weeks. Forty-seven of those who attend high school or community college arrive with a new focus for the year ahead.
That’s because they attended the Summer Health Institute for Nursing Exploration and Success at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing.

Dean Stetter talks horse health
Mark Stetter, dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine, talks all things equine in this month’s video update.
“The school has been a longtime leader in equine health, including helping keep sport horses safe and well cared for,” he said. “Lately, we’ve been proud to see how innovations from the school have helped racehorse safety in California dramatically improve, positively influencing practices nationally. How music therapy works at the children’s hospital
Music therapy combines music interventions and techniques to help patients accomplish individualized goals with the support of a board-certified music therapist. Patients do not have to know how to play an instrument in order to benefit from music therapy. The music therapists at UC Davis Children’s Hospital collaborate directly with the patient’s care team to provide appropriate music therapy services throughout the patient’s hospitalization.
