Employees Can Make a Big Impact this April

April is Employee Giving Month, an ideal time to support the UC Davis programs and services that matter most to you. This month also features Give Day (April 17-18), which is celebrating 10 years of making an impact across UC Davis through its 29-hour, in-person and online fundraising event.

Whether you're cheering on your favorite Aggie team, supporting inspiring exhibitions at the Gorman Museum of Native American Art or enhancing the well-being of animals at the renowned UC Davis Weill School of Veterinary Medicine, there are countless ways to make a difference this April.

A powerful support network

Christie Gallagher, an executive assistant at UC Davis Health, says her role gives her a strong sense of purpose. By helping faculty organize their time, she enables them to focus on caring for patients and advancing critical research.

AT A GLANCE

Gallagher has experienced the impact of this work firsthand. The care and research conducted at the UC Davis MIND Institute have made a profound difference in her son’s life. There, he was first diagnosed with autism and received the expert guidance and support that helped both him and Gallagher move forward with confidence and thrive.

Gallagher supports the MIND Institute each month through payroll deduction as an employee donor. She encourages her fellow employees to consider donating to areas they’re passionate about. “There really is a deeper sense of purpose I feel in my job by investing in our own organization,” she said. “I feel proud that I’ve been on the receiving end of the MIND Institute’s care, research and work — it’s made all the difference in the world.”

Employee Giving Month runs through April 30 and provides a way to help keep UC Davis strong. And it’s easy to give as little as $10 each month through payroll deduction.

Employee Giving Committee Challenge

UC Davis offers a wide range of areas where you can make an important impact as a volunteer or a donor, as well as an employee, this April. It’s easy to participate in Employee Giving Month as part of Give Day. Early giving has already begun for the event, which takes place Friday, April 17-Saturday, April 18.

One great way to make an impact this Give Day is by supporting the Employee Giving Committee Challenge. This committee, made up of 12 members, has collectively contributed $16,000 to various areas across campus, including SERA, Weill School of Veterinary Medicine, ASUCD Pantry, the College of Engineering, women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, UC Davis Children’s Hospital and undergraduate research.

When 500 faculty and staff members make gifts to any area during Give Day 2026 and identify themselves as UC Davis employees, the $16,000 from the Employee Giving Committee will be unlocked.
