Where's the recognition for lagging staff salaries?
Dear Editor:
In the May 7 issue of Dateline, in the At UC & Beyond column, notice is given to faculty salaries falling behind inflation and the need to change that. The next item addresses the $350,000 annual salary of the new UC San Diego chancellor and laments the fact that the average UC chancellor's salary of $290,490 is less than that at comparable institutions.
Was the item lamenting staff salaries also lagging behind inflation inadvertently left out of this column?
