The UC Davis Big Bang! Business Competition will celebrate its 20th anniversary this week with, what else? ... a Big Bang! that will feature $100,000 in prize money and a People’s Choice Award winner chosen through online voting.
The competition, organized by the Mike and Renee Child Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Graduate School of Management, promotes innovations in food and agriculture, health, energy and technology.
In conjunction with this year’s switch to an online finale, the Big Bang! organizers have posted pitch videos by the 16 finalists (in a normal year, people vote in person). Watch the videos and vote here for the $10,000 People’s Choice Award; the voting deadline is noon this Wednesday (May 20).
The winners in all categories will be announced at the awards show, 6 p.m. Wednesday on Facebook Live. RSVP here for a reminder the day of the event.
The competition, open to the public, drew teams this year from across UC Davis, as well as from the Sacramento region and throughout California, the nation and the world.
